- Wigan Borough in Bloom - Environmental Education
Wigan Council established an Environmetnal Eduation Team in October 2007 in order to raise awareness of the environmental problems facing Wigan Borough today.
The Team's vision is:
"To make Wigan Borough a cleaner, safer, greener borough by changing
people's behaviour towards respecting the environment in which
they live, work and visit."
In order to try and achieve this vision they are responsible for running a series of awareness raising campaigns in partnership with schools, communities and businesses.
Campaigns include:
- Big Tidy Up
- Anti-Chewing Gum litter
- Anti-dog fouling
- Tidy Business Awards
