- Wigan Borough in Bloom - Better Neighbourhoods Awards 2009
Tenants, residents and leaseholders who live on a Wigan and Leigh Housing estate are invited to enter the Better Neighbourhoods Awards 2009.
These are the categories this year, please study each description carefully before choosign which one to enter:
Best Traditional Garden
You have a high maintenance garden, which includes lawns and flowerbeds with all-year round colour or maybe fruit and vegetables.
Best Communal Garden
Do you live in one of Wigan Leigh Housing's sheltered housing schemes, block flats or do you have a shared garden?
You can enter as an individual or group as long as you help to maintain the garden.
Best Hanging Basket and Container Garden
Hanging baskets and containers are the main feature of your garden.
Best \young Gardener
If you know someone aged 8 to 16 who has a special gardening talent then enter them for this award.
Best Ornamnetal Garden
Your garden is low maintenance without a lawn, but contains slate, stone or decking with occasional plants, ornaments or even a water feature.
