Working In The Borough - Case Studies - IDentislot CIC
Identislot CIC is a family owned business that was created after husband and wife team, Ian and Debbie Fowler invented an innovative security device, aimed at preventing bogus caller crime against older and vulnerable people. IDentislot CIC was incorporated as a limited company initially in 1998 and converted to a Community Interest Company in 2005, which is a privately owned, not for profit social enterprise. The company has worked with many Police Constabularies, Housing Providers and Local Authorities from across the UK, developing the initial idea and concept into a profoundly successful crime prevention program. Following 8 years of determination and commitment, the company is now ready to assist ALL communities and individuals by promoting their work and products, encouraging duplication within ALL communities.
IDentislot CIC operates from Pemberton Business Centre, Wigan, where project, product and training sales are co-ordinated. Field staff operate across the North West and Central Scotland. IDentislot currently employs 4 people after a restructure, which split the activities of the company and their sister company Reduce the Risk Ltd, which employs 3 people.
IDentislot CIC has always worked from a Wigan base and will continue to do so, because of its close locality to the staff, the central location in the North West and the ease in which we can access the motorway systems, and of course Wigan Athletic Premiership football team and Wigan Warriors Rugby League team.
When IDentislot was initially created, they gained support from various Business Support agencies, who helped them to develop the idea into reality. Staff from different agencies within the Wigan Borough have played an important role in the company’s development over the last 8 years.
Ian Fowler, Director at IDentislot would recommend Wigan as a business location saying:
“A company is only as good as its people. Wigan has great people, who are dedicated, open and friendly.
“Wigan is a vibrant town and is attracting inward investment from major organisations, with numerous newly constructed commercial and domestic developments.”
